Campesino - Farmworker Boy
My father Daniel worked in the agricultural fields in California from the age of 8-18 years old. It was labor intensive work that required working at the crack of dawn prior to going to school. By documenting the stories of my parents' journey as immigrant farmworkers and community leaders, my artwork serves as a means of advocacy, education, and empowerment. It provides a platform for amplifying the voices of those whose labor sustains our agricultural industry yet often goes unrecognized and undervalued.
I hope to continue to creating art related to farmworkers justice and aim to bring visibility to the challenges, triumphs, and complex realities faced by farmworker families like my own.
